The pelagic zone of the ocean begins at the low tide mark and includes the entire oceanic water column. This ecosystem is largely dependent on the phytoplankton inhabiting the upper, sunlit regions, where most ocean organisms live.
It is often common to spot different types of dolphins, whales, sea birds, marine turtles and various species of fishes: like flying fish, lantern marlins and manta rays. Sometimes mega pods composed by several species of cetaceans can alsobe observed. Those congregations happen when hundreds of individuals reunite for feeding, mating or defending all together.
